About the Program
The Shlokas & Bhajans programme at Rhymes to Ragas teaches students to recite and sing traditional Sanskrit shlokas and devotional bhajans with correct pronunciation, natural rhythm, and heartfelt expression. This is not rote memorisation, students develop an understanding of what they are singing and the ability to perform these pieces with genuine presence.
Sessions balance correct pronunciation training, tonal practice, and guided performance, building both the vocal skill and the devotional expression that makes this tradition meaningful. Regular repetition and listening exercises ensure the pieces are internalised, not just memorised.
