1) Camera Handling & Technical Basics
Students develop confident, competent use of a camera or smartphone, understanding settings, controls, and the basic technical knowledge needed to capture intentional images.
2) Composition & Visual Framing
Guided composition exercises develop the ability to frame subjects with purpose, using rules of thirds, leading lines, and visual balance to create compelling, well-structured photographs.
3) Light Observation & Creative Use
Students develop an active awareness of how light quality, direction, and intensity transform a photograph, building the most fundamental skill in visual storytelling.
4) Photography Challenges & Creative Problem-Solving
Project-based assignments challenge students to respond to visual briefs creatively, developing creative thinking, adaptability, and the ability to execute a visual concept.
5) Visual Storytelling & Personal Style
By the end of the programme, students create sequences of images that communicate a story or idea and begin to develop a recognisable personal photographic sensibility.
