About the Program

The Tabla programme at Rhymes to Ragas follows the structured curriculum of Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, one of India’s most respected classical music education bodies. Students learn correct hand technique, taal vocabulary, and rhythmic compositions in a disciplined, progressive format.

Sessions cover taal theory, bol recitation, and applied tabla practice, building both the physical skill and the musical understanding that serious tabla playing requires. Graded examinations through Gandharva Mahavidyalaya are available (optional) for students who wish to have their progress formally recognised.

Suitable for students 6 years and above. Prior musical experience is helpful but not required.
