About the Program

This foundational Bharatanatyam programme introduces students to the core vocabulary of one of India’s oldest classical dance forms. Sessions cover the fundamental elements: Aramandi (basic stance), Adavus (basic movement units), hand gestures (mudras), eye exercises, and basic rhythmic footwork, the building blocks every serious Bharatanatyam student needs.

Led by Priya Sukhatankar, Nrityalankar in Bharatanatyam, each class is structured to build physical technique alongside expressive awareness. Students learn that Bharatanatyam is not just movement, it is storytelling, emotion, and precision in equal measure.

Saturday sessions. Suitable for all age groups. No prior dance experience required.
